My daughter was 7 when she was diagnosed with APD in New Zealand. Within a few weeks of our daughter wearing hearing aids, we noticed significant improvement in energy levels at the end of the day, significantly fewer meltdowns, and we have not seen any tic behaviors since she started the trial. She has over time stopped biting her nails- she would chew them down to the skin, I have been able to cut them 3 weeks in a row for the 1st time in 2.5 years!
She is definitely calmer, her spelling has improved. While we don’t know how much is developmental, this has all happened in under 4 months and I know its due to the programming of the hearing aids.
Dr. Rae has been phenomenal in her support and understanding of our daughter. She has been available at difficult hours to support us in very different time zones. She has been a beacon of hope in a country that seems to not believe much in LG HA where we have limited to no options for our children in terms of what is available for them or the experience needed to treat them.
